The use of mobile phones and the trend of creating reels while driving has become increasingly common. However, for drivers of public transport vehicles who are responsible for passenger safety, such behavior is leading to a rise in accidents. In response to this, the Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has issued a stern warning to its drivers.
The corporation has communicated a clear message that using a mobile phone while driving a bus will result in certain suspension or transfer. With the number of BMTC bus accidents on the rise in the city, the use of mobile phones by drivers has been strictly prohibited. The decision has been made to impose suspension, transfer, and salary deductions for drivers caught talking on the phone, using headphones, or chatting.
