BCCI Files Complaint to ICC Against Haris Rauf & Sahibzada Farhan for Provocative Gestures: here is the info

Counter-Complaint from PCB: In retaliation, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has lodged a complaint against Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav for his post-match remarks referencing a recent terror attack in Pahalgam, labeling them as "political" in nature. The PCB's protest must be filed within seven days of the comments to be valid.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India lodged a formal complaint with the International Cricket Council on September 25 against Pakistani players Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan for provocative gestures during India's six-wicket victory over Pakistan in the Asia Cup Super Four match on September 21 in Dubai.

The complaint, supported by video evidence, accuses the players of indecent behavior, including Farhan mimicking an AK-47 after his half-century and Rauf flashing six fingers after a wicket while clashing verbally with Indian players. Pakistan's PCB responded by filing complaints against Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav for post-match comments linking the win to national pride, as both boards seek disciplinary action ahead of the tournament final. Also Read: "Abhishek Sharma Shines, Kuldeep Spins Web as India Defeat Bangladesh in Asia Cup 2025": india into the final

Sahibzada Farhan's Gesture: During Pakistan's innings, opener Sahibzada Farhan celebrated reaching his half-century by mimicking a machine gun-firing action with his bat as a prop. This move has drawn widespread criticism for being insensitive and aggressive, especially in the charged atmosphere of an India-Pakistan clash.BULLMER Striped Textured Printed Polo Neck Fullsleeve T-Shirt with Rib for Men

Haris Rauf's Gesture: Fast bowler Haris Rauf, while fielding at the boundary, responded to Indian fans chanting "Kohli, Kohli" (referencing Virat Kohli's match-winning sixes against him in the 2022 T20 World Cup) by simulating the act of downing an aircraft with his hands—widely interpreted as a provocative reference to India's military actions.

The BCCI has demanded strict action from match referee Andy Pycroft, potentially including sanctions under the ICC Code of Conduct for bringing the game into disrepute. If the players deny the allegations, they may need to appear before an ICC hearing, possibly involving match referee Richie Richardson.
