Bengaluru, Sept 25: The Bengaluru Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) stands as a citadel of discipline and a model institution for the entire world, earning recognition from the United Nations, said BWSSB Chairman Dr. Ram Prasath Manohar. Speaking at the Engineers’ Day event organized by the BWSSB Engineers’ Association, he highlighted that the Cauvery 5th Phase project is a model initiative for the entire Asian region.
“This massive project supplies 725 million liters per day (MLD) of water. Our engineers work round the clock, providing 10 lakh crore liters of water daily. By adopting five key principles, including water conservation and rainwater management, BWSSB has become a global exemplar and earned the appreciation of the United Nations,” he said.He further noted that engineers are instrumental in nation-building, each with unique perspectives.
“While God created humans, engineers are creating the world. Sir M. Visvesvaraya was one of the finest engineers the country has seen. We must honor him by delivering exemplary service. Though I am a science student by training, I have been working in the engineering sector for 10 of the last 15 years. Engineers are dynamic and proactive individuals,” he added.
