The cabinet approved the relocation of a 50-bed Intensive Care Unit, originally sanctioned for Chikkodi, to Bailhongal Taluk Hospital in Belagavi district. The unit will be constructed at an estimated cost of ₹23.75 crore, including buildings and medical equipment.

Bengaluru: The Karnataka Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, made several significant decisions in a meeting held on September 25, 2025. The discussions covered hospital development, public funds, skill development policies, and state development projects, with a strong focus on health, education, and social surveys post-COVID. The cabinet also resolved to take strict action against officials and staff absent during the ongoing social, educational, and economic surveys in the state.

Key Decisions: Hospital Upgradation and Relocation: The cabinet approved the relocation of a 50-bed Intensive Care Unit, originally sanctioned for Chikkodi, to Bailhongal Taluk Hospital in Belagavi district. The unit will be constructed at an estimated cost of ₹23.75 crore, including buildings and medical equipment.

Congress Bhavan Expansion: A plot of 400.63 square meters in Lokapur Town Panchayat, Bagalkote district, reserved for public purposes, has been approved for lease to the Congress Bhavan Trust for 30 years.

Infrastructure and Development Projects: Renovation and development of Karnataka Bhavan-2 in Delhi have been approved with a budget of ₹16.30 crore.

Construction of a new Prajna Soudha building in Kadur, Chikkamagaluru district, has been sanctioned at a cost of ₹16 crore.

Under the 15th Finance Commission’s scheme, a revised action plan of ₹329 crore for the expansion and modernization of the Karnataka State Fire and Emergency Services Department received the green light.

Skill Development Policy: The cabinet approved the Karnataka State Skill Development Policy 2025-2032, aimed at enhancing skill development initiatives across the state.
