The release date of Nandamuri Balakrishna's much-awaited 'Akhanda 2' has been officially announced, ending the wait for fans. This multilingual action thriller will hit the screens on December 5, 2026.
Titled 'Akhanda 2: Thaandavam', the film is the sequel to the 2021 blockbuster hit 'Akhanda'. Directed by Boyapati Srinu, Nandamuri Balakrishna plays the lead role. Samyuktha Menon appears as the female lead, while Adi Pinisetty shines as the antagonist.
According to a Times Now report, the film's teaser was released during Pawan Kalyan's 'They Call Him OG' show, along with the announcement of the release date. The teaser once again promises a high-voltage cinematic experience.
Originally, 'Akhanda 2' was scheduled for release on September 25, 2025. However, the producers postponed this date. They released an official statement on social media, confirming the delay in the planned release.
"The blockbuster combination of 'God of Masses' Nandamuri Balakrishna and director Boyapati Srinu is back. This duo, which has redefined mass action entertainers and created some iconic moments in Telugu cinema, has everyone eagerly awaiting the film," the production house stated.Titan Edge Ceramic Analog White Dial Men's Watch NM1696QC04/NN1696QC04/NP1696QC04 Visit the Titan Store
The team has also explained the reason for the film's release delay. "A project of this scale requires more attention to re-recording, VFX, and the entire post-production process. Considering the success of the first part and the expectations for 'Akhanda 2', additional time is needed to present the film at its best," the team informed.
The producers emphasize that 'Akhanda 2' is not just another action entertainer; it's a grand cinematic experience. Due to heavy reliance on re-recording, visual effects, and grand action sequences, the post-production work is taking longer than expected. The Chiranjeevi vs. N.T.R. Family War Reignites... The team aims to surpass the expectations set by the success of 'Akhanda', which was one of Balakrishna's biggest hits. Samyuktha and Adi Pinisetty play key roles, adding freshness to the story.
Previously, 'Akhanda 2' was set to release on September 25, 2025, alongside Pawan Kalyan's 'They Call Him OG'. However, with Balakrishna's film's date postponed, the anticipated box office clash between the two stars has been avoided.
