On April 30, 2025, the gang filed a Public Interest Litigation (PIL) urging the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the case. However, on May 5, 2025, the Supreme Court dismissed the PIL, calling it devoid of public interest and suggesting it was driven by personal, financial, or political motives.
