Heavy rainfall across several districts of North Karnataka has disrupted daily life. Trees have been uprooted, and roads are submerged. Kalaburagi District In-charge Minister Priyank Kharge has visited the affected areas to assess the situation.

Heavy, continuous rainfall has severely disrupted life across several districts in North Karnataka. Reports indicate uprooted trees, waterlogged roads, crop damage, and difficulty for students commuting to schools and colleges. With the rising water levels in the Bhima River posing a flood threat, Kalaburagi District In-charge Minister Priyank Kharge visited the area to assess the situation.

The usually dry regions of North Karnataka have been transformed into rain-soaked territories due to the heavy downpour over the past few days, causing widespread chaos. While there have fortunately been no reports of casualties, the persistent rain has damaged vehicles and created significant challenges for daily life. A Yellow Alert has been declared for districts including Vijayapura, Yadgir, Kalaburagi, Raichur, Bagalkote, Bidar, Koppal, and Ballari.

The heavy rain has created cold conditions and severely hampered movement for local employees and students. Water has entered homes in urban areas, and heavy showers have been recorded across most taluks. A massive neem tree was among the structures that collapsed due to the rain, blocking road traffic overnight. Minister Priyank Kharge's Assessment:

District In-charge Minister Priyank Kharge rushed to the scene today, visiting various villages in the district to take stock of the situation. The huge inflow of water into the Bhima River has created a flood scare. The overflowing river, fed by water released from Maharashtra's Ujani, Seena, and Veera reservoirs, has led to flood-like conditions in several villages in the Afzalpur and Jewargi taluks.

The Minister inspected the submerged bridges and assessed the extent of crop damage, engaging in discussions with local farmers. He has instructed officials from the concerned departments on the ground to submit a comprehensive and accurate report on the losses incurred due to the rainfall. Also Read: "The litterateur S.L.
