Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has been assigned the Bengaluru City Development portfolio, with instructions to expedite election preparations.Urban Administration Minister Rahim Khan’s portfolio has been revised, excluding Bengaluru Urban district’s local bodies, which are now under Shivakumar’s purview. The government has allocated other urban administration responsibilities to Khan to streamline governance and ensure efficiency.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s recommendations for this restructuring have received the Governor’s approval. The GBA Corporations elections are likely to be held by December 2025, with Shivakumar directing officials to complete preparations within four months.
