Accenture Slashes Over 11,000 Jobs in Three Months Amid AI Shift.!

Accenture, one of the world's leading consulting firms, has laid off over 11,000 employees in the past three months as part of an ongoing workforce reduction. According to CEO Julie Sweet, the decision is driven by the integration of AI-based technologies and delays in meeting evolving client demands. She has also warned that further job cuts may occur in the coming months as the company continues to adapt to changing business needs.

Accenture, a major global consulting firm, has laid off over 11,000 employees in the last three months as it reduces its workforce. According to CEO Julie Sweet, the decision is driven by the adoption of AI-based technologies and delayed fulfillment of client demands. The company has warned that further job cuts are likely in the coming days.

The global strategy and consulting behemoth has been continuously reducing its employee strength. The company’s CEO, Julie Sweet, has reportedly warned that after dismissing over 11,000 employees in the last quarter, more will be removed from their positions.

Reasons: AI Integration and Restructuring -

Sweet clarified that the action was taken due to AI implementation and the delay in meeting corporate demand. Furthermore, the company has undertaken these layoffs as part of a restructuring plan costing over ₹85.6 crore (or $856 million, assuming the original text meant the common restructuring cost figure). The possibility of more employees being let go in the coming months remains. The company's employee count, which was 791,000 in April, dropped to 779,000 by the end of August. As businesses worldwide integrate with AI, Sweet stated that it is crucial for employees to increase their use of AI to quickly meet the expectations of client companies. Accenture has thus begun providing AI training to its staff.

Emphasis on Reskilling and Adaptation -

Employees have been instructed to reskill, realign their current competencies, and adopt the new skills required by the company. Those who fall behind in this are being let go. Client companies are demanding AI-enhanced consulting services, and Sweet emphasized the necessity of updating the company's capabilities to align with this. She reportedly conveyed that the company cannot retain those who do not quickly embrace these necessary changes.
