Uttara Kannada: The Karnataka High Court, on Friday, September 26, 2025, granted permission to the Central Government to provide necessary travel documents for a Russian woman and her children, residing in a cave in Gokarna, to return to their home country. The single-judge bench of Justice B.M. Shyam Prasad disposed of a petition filed by Dror Shlomo Goldstein, identified as the father of the woman’s second child.

The court noted, “The Russian woman and her children are residing in a cave in Gokarna, devoid of any facilities, a place where no one would willingly choose to stay. They have not fully explained why they are there. Considering the welfare of the children, the local administration has provided rehabilitation. The woman and her two children, who entered India with Russian authorization, have overstayed their visa. Providing the necessary documents for their return to their country is a matter for the Central Government to handle.”

The Additional Solicitor General, K. Arvind Kamath, representing the Central Government, informed the court, “Based on the child’s genealogy report, information about the petitioner has been shared with the relevant Russian authorities. Following this, the Russian administration has issued emergency travel documents. These documents are valid from September 25 to October 9, 2025. Therefore, the mother and her children should be permitted to leave immediately. Also Read: Edge-of-the-Seat Clash: Morkel Predicts Abhishek vs Afridi Will Steal the Show
