Burglary at Mary Kom’s Faridabad Home: Valuables Worth Lakhs Stolen

Despite the locks, they damaged a first-floor balcony door and ransacked the house, fleeing with items including a television set, gold jewelry, taps, an inverter battery, and other valuables, all captured on CCTV footage.

Faridabad: Police have confirmed that burglars targeted the home of India's renowned boxing star Mary Kom, a six-time world champion and Olympic medalist, in Sector 46, Faridabad, while she was away in Sohra, Meghalaya, participating in the 4th International Half Marathon. The incident occurred on the intervening night of September 24-25, 2025, with thieves making off with valuables estimated at several lakhs of rupees.

The two-story bungalow, named "Ibeneser Inn," was locked during Kom's absence. The burglars entered through an adjacent vacant plot, breaking a glass window on the terrace to gain access. Despite the locks, they damaged a first-floor balcony door and ransacked the house, fleeing with items including a television set, gold jewelry, taps, an inverter battery, and other valuables, all captured on CCTV footage.

Neighbors spotted suspicious activity, including a ladder placed near the house, and alerted Kom's manager, who informed the police. The burglary was discovered on September 27 when a neighbor reviewed local CCTV recordings. A police team from Sector 46 visited the site but couldn't enter initially due to the locks; Kom's manager later provided the keys for inspection. An FIR has been registered at Surajkund police station, and 5-7 teams from the crime branch and district police are investigating, reviewing CCTV to identify and arrest the suspects.
