The stone-pelting incident during the Ganesh procession in Maddur has taken a new turn. Police investigations have revealed it was a pre-planned act, with 32 accused arrested so far, led by an individual named Swami.

The stone-pelting incident during the Ganesh procession in Maddur, Mandya district, has taken a new turn. Police investigations have confirmed it was a pre-planned act. So far, 32 accused have been arrested and are being interrogated. However, the investigation revealed that the stones were mistakenly thrown at a different procession instead of the targeted one.Police are preparing to further interrogate the accused to determine whether the stone pelting was motivated by political vendetta or an intent to create religious unrest. The incident took a political turn, with the BJP and JD(S) launching sharp criticism against the state Congress government. BJP leaders visited the site and staged protests.In connection with the incident, FIRs were filed against BJP MLC C.T. Ravi and MLA Basanagoud Yatnal for allegedly making provocative statements. Home Minister Dr. G. Parameshwara had responded, stating that allegations of the stone pelting being pre-planned were under investigation, and the probe would proceed from that perspective.
