The Women's One Day International (ODI) World Cup tournament will begin tomorrow, with eight teams competing against each other. The Indian women's team, led by captain Harmanpreet Kaur, has high expectations for the tournament, which will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka. This year's tournament will also feature a cultural program in memory of the recently deceased singer Zubeen Garg.

The Women’s ODI World Cup tournament is set to begin tomorrow, featuring eight teams competing for the title. This year’s event will also include a cultural tribute to the recently deceased singer, Zubeen Garg.

Tournament Begins Amid Festive Cheer

The Women's ODI World Cup will begin during the auspicious occasion of Navratri/Durga Puja. The event follows the thrilling India vs. Pakistan Asia Cup final in Dubai on Sunday, which saw India emerge as Asian champions for the ninth consecutive time, raising hopes for a strong performance from the women’s squad.

The highly anticipated tournament will feature a league phase where all eight teams will play each other once in a Round Robin format. The top four teams in the standings will qualify for the semi-finals.

India Aims for Maiden Title -

Under the leadership of captain Harmanpreet Kaur, the Indian women’s team is determined to secure their maiden World Cup trophy. The tournament is being jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka, and it will be inaugurated on Tuesday with a match between the two host nations. As per tournament rules, if a match is tied, a Super Over will be played to determine the winner. Reserve days have only been allotted for the two semi-finals and the final. If any match is canceled due to rain or other reasons, both teams will be awarded one point each.

Cultural Tribute to Zubeen Garg -

The 13th edition of the ICC Women's Cricket World Cup will feature a cultural program to honor the memory of the late singer Zubeen Garg. During the opening ceremony on Tuesday, singer Shreya Ghoshal is scheduled to perform a song dedicated to the departed artist.
