Political mudslinging continues between the TVK party and the ruling party regarding this incident. The TVK party has demanded a CBI probe. Allegations have surfaced of police security lapses at the stampede site, stone-pelting on ambulances, and power cuts. However, the ADGP has dismissed these allegations.

Due to several suspicions in this incident, TVK leaders have petitioned the Madras High Court seeking an investigation by the CBI or a special investigation team. This petition is likely to come up for hearing this afternoon.

In connection with the Karur stampede tragedy, cases have been registered only against TVK leaders. Therefore, the DMK government is contemplating taking further action only after the judicial investigation report is received.
