Gurugram, September 30: In a tragic incident in Gurugram, a software engineer, Ajay Kumar (30), allegedly killed his wife, Sweety Sharma (28), following a heated argument and subsequently died by suicide after informing a friend via a video message.

The couple, married for three years, hailed from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh (Ajay), and Asansol, West Bengal (Sweety), and were both employed at an IT company in Gurugram. According to police, Kumar’s friend received a call at 3:15 PM, where Kumar disclosed his intent to take his own life. The couple had a severe dispute over an undisclosed issue. When police reached their flat in a Sector 37 residential society, they found Sweety’s body on the floor, strangled with a scarf. Kumar was found hanging from a ceiling fan. Police suspect Kumar killed his wife before taking his own life, though the exact reasons behind the incidents remain unclear. Sweety’s family has filed a murder complaint against Kumar.
