Kolar, October 3, 2025: The rising number of fake doctors in several districts of Karnataka has led to incidents where patients' lives are put at risk. In a tragic event in Doddigalluru village, Malur taluk, Kolar district, an 8-year-old girl died after receiving an injection from a fake doctor. A case has been registered at the Malur police station regarding this incident.

The 8-year-old girl from Doddigalluru village was suffering from a high fever and was admitted to a clinic in Santehalli. After receiving an injection at the clinic, the girl became critically ill. She was immediately shifted to a private hospital, but was declared dead. It was revealed that the person who administered the injection was a fake doctor with no medical qualifications. Allegations state that the girl's death was caused by the wrong injection. The parents, enraged by this revelation, have demanded strict action against such fake doctors' clinics. A complaint has been lodged at the Malur police station.Three years ago, in Kolar district, the tahsildar conducted raids on three clinics and shut them down due to lack of proper documentation. In Bengaluru’s Koramangala, a doctor with an Ayurveda degree was found to have been practicing allopathy for the past 10 years.

Similarly, individuals without any training in dermatology were providing beauty treatments. Over 100 fake doctors have been identified across the state, including in Bengaluru, Kalaburagi, and Belagavi. Legal action was taken against them, fines were imposed, and some clinics were sealed. The danger posed to people's lives by these fake doctors is a serious issue, and stringent measures are needed to prevent such incidents.
