A young man running a YouTube channel in Palwal, Haryana, has been arrested on charges of providing intelligence information to Pakistan. The accused has been identified as Wasim, a resident of Kot village in the Hathin sub-division.

According to police, Wasim lives in the village with his family, and his father runs a hospital. Wasim partially managed his YouTube channel and assisted his father in his free time. Wasim's family reportedly has relatives in Pakistan. In 2021, while applying for a visa to travel to Pakistan, Wasim allegedly came into contact with a person named Danish and another official at the Pakistani Embassy.

Police indicate that Wasim had been in contact with these officials via WhatsApp for the past four years. The investigative team has seized several WhatsApp chats from Wasim's phone and is using cyber technology to retrieve the information allegedly sent to Pakistan through these conversations. Wasim's family, however, claims he never traveled to Pakistan. Police also revealed that another individual, Akram, had been in contact with Pakistani agents for the past three years and was providing them with SIM cards. Akram, now identified as Taufiq, was presented in court and sent to jail. Wasim has been taken on remand for further interrogation.
