Bengaluru, October 2, 2025: H.M. Ramesh Gowda, President of the JDS Bengaluru City Unit, hailed Mahatma Gandhi as an eternal source of inspiration, wisdom, and guidance on the path of righteousness. He also praised India’s second Prime Minister, Lal Bahadur Shastri, as an epitome of simplicity, integrity, efficiency, and honesty, describing him as a towering leader who steered the nation through challenging times and remains a timeless ideal for all generations.

Speaking at a program organized at the JDS state office to commemorate the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri, Gowda emphasized their enduring legacy. On the same occasion, an Ayudha Puja was also performed at the office.

Gowda highlighted Gandhi’s message of truth and non-violence, noting its global relevance: “Bapuji gave the world a message through Satya and Ahimsa. Today, more than ever, he is profoundly relevant. The event featured interfaith prayers, with recitations from the Bhagavad Gita, Quran, Bible, and Vedic mantras, alongside the singing of Gandhi’s favorite devotional songs. The program saw participation from prominent JDS leaders, including former Minister Leeladevi R. Prasad, former MLA M.S. Narayan, Bengaluru City Chief General Secretary S. Ramesh, former BBMP Opposition Leader T. Thimmegowda, Bengaluru North Lok Sabha Constituency President A.M. Praveen Kumar, Bengaluru City Women’s Wing President Shaila Santoji Rao, Scheduled Caste Wing President G. Velu, Youth Wing President Samuel, Labour Wing President M. Gopal, Scheduled Tribe Wing President Janardhan, former BBMP members Rajini Murthy, Ramanagara Constituency President M. Venkataswamy, State Seva Dal President Basavaraj Padayatari, along with other party leaders, office-bearers, and workers.
