CM’s Son and Minister Mahadevappa’s Grandson at Dasara Parade Spark Political Controversy!

The special entry of CM Siddaramaiah’s son and Minister H.C. Mahadevappa’s grandson at the Dasara parade has triggered political uproar. Public discontent has arisen over alleged protocol violations, fueling debates in Karnataka’s political circles.

The grand celebration of Karnataka’s state festival, Dasara, concluded with fervor on Friday. However, an incident following the Nandi Dhwaja Puja on the final day of the Dasara parade has drawn the ire of the Congress high command. During the parade in an open jeep within the palace premises, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Deputy CM D.K. Shivakumar, and Ministers H.C. Mahadevappa and Shivaraj Tangadagi were joined by a young boy wearing sunglasses, sparking widespread discussions.

The boy’s presence has ignited a fierce political controversy. Questions are being raised about his identity, why he was allowed to participate in the parade alongside senior leaders, and whether his inclusion adhered to protocol. Congress leaders in Delhi have sought clarification from Karnataka’s second-tier leadership regarding the matter. The fact that Minister Mahadevappa’s grandson was seen alongside the CM and DCM has become the focal point of these debates. The issue has now taken a political turn, with several opposition parties expressing outrage. Despite Dasara being a state-sponsored event, questions have emerged about how family members gained access to the parade. While it is customary for the CM to lead the parade in an open jeep as per protocol set by the Mysuru district administration, the presence of a minor has raised concerns about a potential breach of rules.

Furthermore, critics have questioned why only this boy was granted such an opportunity if it was not part of the protocol. Opposition leader in the Legislative Council, Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, reacted sharply, stating, “Looking at the CM and Mysuru’s in-charge Minister Mahadevappa, it seems like a court of their grandchildren. They are not only indulging in power themselves but are also paving the way for their grandchildren to do the same. They have no concern for the public, only for their kin. This is a real estate government.”The controversy has intensified scrutiny of the state leadership, with accusations of favoritism and misuse of authority dominating political discourse in Karnataka.
