Tamil Nadu: The Madras High Court on Friday sharply criticized the leadership of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), including its founder, actor-politician Vijay, for "fleeing" the scene of a stampede that occurred during a TVK rally in Karur on September 27. The tragic incident claimed 41 lives.Justice N. "It is truly regrettable that the rally's organizer, Vijay, and members of his political party fled the scene... The court strongly condemns the conduct of the event organizers, Vijay, and the political party members who escaped after the incident," the judge stated."The shocking fact is that the organizers, including the political party’s leader, abandoned their own workers, followers, and fans, fleeing the scene without any expression of remorse, responsibility, or regret," the court further criticized.Also Read: Confirmed: Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda Are Engaged!
Justice Senthil Kumar also expressed dissatisfaction with the state’s investigation, stating it was not conducted properly.The court noted that the Special Investigation Team (SIT), formed to probe the case, will be led by Director General of Police (North Zone) Asra Garg. The team includes Namakkal Police Superintendent Vimala (IPS) and CSCID Police Superintendent Shyamaladevi. The court added that Garg may include additional members in the team as needed.
