New Delhi: On Today Defence Minister Rajnath Singh announced that India has procured military hardware and weaponry worth ₹1.20 lakh crore from indigenous sources by the end of 2024-25. Speaking at an event, he emphasized India’s commitment to self-reliance to counter security challenges.
“The government is fully aware of evolving warfare tactics, especially drone usage, and is preparing accordingly,” Singh stated. “In 2021-22, we procured defence equipment worth ₹74,000 crore domestically. By 2024-25, this has surged to ₹1.20 lakh crore, reflecting a transformed mindset, not just statistics,” he clarified.
