Chandigarh IPS Officer's Suicide Case: Wife's Serious Allegations... FIR Against DGP and SP!

In the suicide case of IPS officer V. Puran Kumar, his wife Amnita P. Kumar has accused the DGP and SP of abetment and caste-based harassment.

The suicide case of IPS officer V. Puran Kumar has taken a dramatic new turn. His wife, IAS officer Amnita P. Kumar, has filed a complaint against Haryana DGP Shatrujeet Singh Kapur and Rohtak SP Narendra Bijarnia, alleging abetment and harassment. In the complaint, Amnita states that these two officers played a direct role in her husband's death. She has accused them of subjecting her husband to caste-based insults and mental torture, demanding action under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act.

Amnita Kumar, currently serving as Commissioner of the Haryana government's Foreign Cooperation Department, was on an official trip to Japan with a delegation led by Chief Minister Nayab Saini at the time of the incident. Puran Kumar died by suicide using his service revolver at their home in Chandigarh's Sector 11. His daughter discovered his body in the basement, bringing the incident to light. Police have revealed that an eight-page note found at the scene details the harassment he endured from certain senior officers.
