Hassanamba Devi Darshan Begins Today: Dress Code Mandatory for Devotees

After the rituals, the sanctum sanctorum was opened in the presence of dignitaries, including Nirmalananda Swamiji of Adichunchanagiri Mutt, Hassan District In-Charge Minister Krishna Byre Gowda, newly elected Hassan MP Shreyas Patel, the Deputy Commissioner (DC), and the Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP).

Hassan: The sanctum sanctorum of the renowned Hassanamba Devi Temple, which opens to the public only once a year, was unlocked yesterday, allowing devotees to seek the divine darshan of the goddess. The temple will be open for public darshan from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM daily. The queue for darshan begins before 6:00 AM, with entry to the queue closing at 4:00 PM, and darshan permitted until 7:00 PM.

On Thursday, the temple doors were ceremoniously opened with mangalavadya (auspicious music) and puja materials, led by chief priest Nagaraju. Festival Details: Duration: The Hassanamba Devi Jatra will continue until October 23, 2025.

Arrangements: The Hassan DC office has made comprehensive arrangements for devotees, ensuring a smooth darshan experience.

Cultural Programs: To enhance the spiritual experience, cultural programs including folk performances, music, literature, and dance will be held daily from 6:00 PM to 10:30 PM at the Hemavathi statue premises.

Mandatory Dress Code for Devotees: To maintain the sanctity of the temple, a strict dress code has been enforced for entry into the sanctum sanctorum:Men: Must wear traditional attire such as dhoti, pancha, or pyjama. Casual clothing like t-shirts, shorts, or sportswear is prohibited.

Women: Must wear traditional attire such as sarees or churidar. Jeans, tops, or tight-fitting dresses are not allowed.

The temple authorities emphasize that devotees must adhere to the dress code to gain entry. The annual festival is expected to draw thousands of devotees, with arrangements in place to ensure a memorable and sacred experience.
