In the wake of a series of grave criminal incidents in Mysuru, MP Yaduveer Odeyar has expressed strong dissatisfaction with the state government, accusing it of a complete breakdown in law and order.The festive spirit of Dasara has been overshadowed by shocking incidents of murder and rape, raising serious concerns about Mysuru’s security framework. Yaduveer lamented that such incidents tarnish the reputation of Mysuru, a city renowned for its cleanliness, discipline, and good governance.
Speaking at a press conference, Yaduveer criticized the deteriorating state of law and order, citing incidents like stone-pelting at the Udayagiri police station and the seizure of drugs worth ₹340 crore. He pointed out that the drug bust, uncovered by Maharashtra police, underscores the inefficiency of Karnataka’s law enforcement system. Yaduveer described the brutality against the child as an unprecedented tragedy in Mysuru’s history, highlighting the blatant security lapses. He expressed outrage that such incidents are occurring in the city’s core, indicating a lack of fear among criminals. Yaduveer recalled Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s election-time claim that “Mysuru is my hometown.” He stated, “The government has utterly failed to prevent such unfortunate incidents in the CM’s own hometown. This is a clear indicator of the government’s negligence and incompetent administration.”
