Hassan, October 11, 2025 – The Sri Hasanamba Devi and Sri Siddeshwara Swami Temple Mahotsava, a prestigious festival in the district running from October 9, 2025, to October 23, 2025, draws massive crowds of devotees from various states and districts. To ensure the smooth conduct of the temple's Jatra Mahotsava without any disruptions, the district administration had implemented comprehensive measures.

In line with Reference 1, administrative authorities, along with officials from the Sri Hasanamba Temple and the Sub-Divisional Officer of the Hassan Division, had directed the deployment of necessary staff from the Social Welfare Department. Specifically, Mr. Anand (Warden) from the Metric Pre-University Boys' Student Hostel in Doddabemmatti, Arakalagudu Taluk, and Mr. Ramesh (Warden) from the Metric Pre-University Boys' Student Hostel in Halebeedu, Belur Taluk, were assigned duties for overseeing cleanliness as per Reference 2, and identity cards were distributed to them. However, they handed over their identity cards to unauthorized individuals, allowing others to enter the temple premises. Following the orders of Ms. K.S. Latha Kumari, Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of Hassan District, Mr. Anand and Mr. Ramesh have been suspended with immediate effect from October 10, 2025, pending departmental inquiry.
