Karur Stampede Tragedy: Supreme Court Orders CBI Investigation!

The Supreme Court has issued an order directing the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to take over the probe into the stampede tragedy that occurred on September 27 in Karur, Tamil Nadu. During the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam rally led by actor-politician Dalapati Vijay, this incident resulted in the deaths of 41 people. The court has clarified that a fair investigation is necessary and has also constituted a three-member committee under the chairmanship of retired Justice Ajay Rastogi. This verdict has turned into a major political setback for the state government led by Chief Minister M.K. Stalin.

Today, the Supreme Court has issued a significant order handing over the investigation of the stampede tragedy that took place on September 27 in Karur, Tamil Nadu, to the CBI. A two-member bench comprising Justices J.K. Maheshwari and N.V. Anjaria delivered the judgment, directing the case to be transferred to the Central Investigation Agency (CBI) for probe.

The incident occurred during a political rally of Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam led by actor-politician Vijay in Karur, Tamil Nadu.
