According to the statistics released by India's Income Tax Department, in the current financial year, the net direct tax collection has reached 11.89 lakh crore rupees with a 6.33% increase.

According to the statistics released by India's Income Tax Department, in the current financial year, the net direct tax collection has reached 11.89 lakh crore rupees with a 6.33% increase. The total direct tax collection stands at 13.92 lakh crore rupees, compared to 13.60 lakh crore rupees in the same period last year. Refunds have decreased to 2.03 lakh crore rupees, showing a decline of about 16% compared to 2.41 lakh crore rupees in 2024-25. Non-corporate tax collections, including personal and Hindu Undivided Family (HUF), have increased from 5.94 lakh crore to 6.56 lakh crore rupees. The Securities Transaction Tax (STT) collection has seen a slight increase to 30,878 crore rupees, while other minor taxes have reached 294 crore rupees.Also Read: Helmetless, Wrong-Route Driving: Another Motorist Faces Verbal Abuse


For the full financial year 2025-26, the government has set a target of 25.20 lakh crore rupees in direct tax collection, which is a 12.7% increase over the previous year.
