Lokayukta officials have been conducting an intense operation since Tuesday morning against L.P. Naik, a native of Chandavar in Kumta, Uttara Kannada district, and Udupi RTO officer, on the backdrop of allegations of disproportionate assets accumulation.

Simultaneous raids are being carried out on Naik's houses in Udupi and Kumta Chandavar, his ancestral home, and private buildings held in the names of relatives.The team led by Lokayukta Inspector Vinayak Billava has conducted document verification at Naik's residence and commercial complexes in Kinnimulki and Padu Alvuru village in Udupi, seizing key files.Also Read: Chinese Entrepreneur Shocked by Bengaluru's Potholes and Garbage: Will the Government Finally Wake Up?


It has come to notice that Naik's uncles reside in his ancestral home in Chandavar, Kumta, Uttara Kannada district, where intense searches have also taken place. Lokayukta officials have detected that the Uday and Vaibhav buildings owned by L.P. Information about assets disproportionate to known sources of income is coming to light during the verification of various documents, and there is expectation that this operation will bring new vigor to corruption control in the state.
