IT-BT Minister Priyank Kharge has released a video documenting continuous death threats he has been receiving, following his letter to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah advocating for a ban on RSS activities in state-run and grant-in-aid schools. In response to the threats, security has been significantly increased at his official residence.
The Minister, who had sought to curb RSS activities in public places and educational institutions across the state, shared the video of a threatening call on his official 'X' (formerly Twitter) account. Kharge, in his post, questioned whether the use of abusive language, including insults aimed at his mother and sister, was reflective of 'RSS culture'. He further released a video of one of the threatening calls, in which the caller is heard using derogatory language in Hindi. He commented that he had refrained from releasing even more explicit videos to maintain his dignity. Following the growing concern over threats to his life, additional police personnel have been deployed to ensure tight security at his government residence on Race Course Road in Bengaluru.
