Chikkamagaluru: A shocking case of murder has been reported in Chikkamagaluru, where a husband, allegedly in a drunken stupor, brutally attacked and killed his estranged wife following a renewed quarrel between the couple, who had been separated for two years.
The incident comes amidst public alarm over the recent Kritika doctor murder case in the state. This latest horrific crime occurred in Ajjampura taluk of Chikkamagaluru district.
The victim has been identified as Tanu (25), a resident of Chikkanavangala village in Ajjampura. Her husband, Ramesh, allegedly attacked her with a sharp weapon while under the influence of alcohol, hacking her to death on the spot. The couple had been married for seven years before their relationship strained due to continuous domestic disputes, leading to their separation two years ago. They have a six-year-old son.
Local residents expressed fear and distress over the incident, suggesting that the relentless disputes and the husband's alcohol addiction were the primary reasons behind the cruel act.
According to the information received, the husband, despite their separation, arrived at the woman's location, initiated a quarrel while drunk, and subsequently murdered her.
