Thursday, Three soldiers were seriously injured in a suspected militant attack late night after a grenade was hurled at an Army camp in the Kakopathar area of Assam’s Tinsukia district.
The incident occurred around 12:30 AM when unidentified assailants, arriving in vehicles, opened fire and launched a grenade at the military installation. The attack targeted the camp of the 19 Grenadiers unit of the Indian Army. Locals reported hearing continuous firing and explosions for about an hour, causing panic in the area.

Security forces have launched an intensive search operation to apprehend the perpetrators. The Army and Police have cordoned off the surrounding area, and civilian movement has been restricted. The authorities suspect the involvement of the outlawed militant group, the United Liberation Front of Assam (ULFA), in the attack.
