Chittapur RSS Procession Issue: High Court Approves RSS March for November 2

The controversy surrounding restrictions on RSS activities in Karnataka has taken a new turn daily, intensifying the political tussle between the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In Chittapur, the home constituency of Minister Priyank Kharge, the District Collector had issued an order denying permission for the RSS procession scheduled for today, October 19, leading to its cancellation.

Chittapur, Oct 19: In response to the denial of permission for a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) procession in Chittapur, Kalaburagi district, a petition challenging the District Collector's decision was heard at the Kalaburagi bench of the Karnataka High Court. The court directed authorities to allocate separate time slots for the processions of two organizations, granting approval for the RSS to hold its pathasanchalana (march) on November 2, 2025.PALAY® Straw Hat Sun Hats for Women,Wide Brim Cap Beach Hat for Women Stylish UV Protection Cap,

Following this, the RSS challenged the Collector's decision in the Kalaburagi High Court bench. An urgent hearing was conducted before Justice MGS Kamal. Advocate Vadhiraj Kadlur, representing the petitioners, argued that there is no clear law mandating such restrictions. The High Court questioned whether permission is necessary for a group to march without protesting or raising slogans, likening it to a large family or an environmental awareness procession. The court instructed authorities to designate separate time slots for the RSS and Bhim Army processions to avoid conflict.

The court granted approval for the RSS to conduct its pathasanchalana on November 2, 2025. It is understood that around 250 peaceful RSS processions are planned across the state on that date.
