Bengaluru: To ensure better coordination between the BJP and JD(S) alliance partners, plans are underway to establish separate coordination committees for Bengaluru and the entire state. Discussions with party leaders will be held soon, and these committees will be announced shortly, stated BJP State President B.Y. Vijayendra.
After meeting Union Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy on Tuesday, Vijayendra spoke to reporters, revealing that he had held detailed discussions on the state's political situation. Kumaraswamy has assured that names for the coordination committee will be submitted within 8-10 days, he added. Vijayendra mentioned that he has incorporated suggestions from Kumaraswamy regarding the committee's formation. With Greater Bengaluru elections approaching, Kumaraswamy has recommended forming one committee specifically for Bengaluru and another for the state at large, which Vijayendra described as an appropriate strategy. The ministers themselves are dismissing such suggestions, which does no credit to the government, Vijayendra criticized.
He contrasted this with the tenure of former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa, who had positively embraced similar criticisms and advice during his time in office.Coordination Committee to Strengthen Alliance: Election PreparationsIn the backdrop of preparations for local body elections, including those for the five corporations under the Greater Bengaluru Authority, the BJP-JD(S) alliance has initiated steps to achieve seamless coordination.
