Renukaswamy Murder Case: Accused Pradosh Seeks Interim Bail, Hearing Adjourned to 3 PM

Pradoosh’s lawyer, Divakar, filed a petition in court stating that Pradoosh is his father’s only son and requested interim bail so that he can participate in the funeral rites and related rituals.

In the Renukaswamy murder case involving actor Darshan and his associates, one of the accused, Pradosh, has filed an application before the court seeking 15 days of interim bail. The request is to allow him to participate in the funeral rites and rituals of his deceased father.

Pradosh's counsel, Diwakar, submitted the plea, arguing that Pradosh is the sole son of the deceased and needs to be present for the last rites.

However, the Special Public Prosecutor (SPP) has vehemently objected to the bail plea. Following the objection, the court adjourned the hearing on the interim bail application to 3:00 PM today.

SPP Files Memo Opposing Trial Delay -

In a significant related development, the SPP filed a memo with the court, raising strong objections against the alleged intentional delay of the trial proceedings by the accused. The SPP asserted that the accused are deliberately filing discharge applications sequentially to slow down the judicial process. Key points raised in the memo include:

  • Intentional Delay: The accused are submitting discharge petitions one after another, despite a previous court instruction that all accused wishing to file discharge applications should do so collectively.

  • Supreme Court Directive: The SPP reminded the court that the Supreme Court had previously directed the trial to be concluded as quickly as possible.

  • Wastage of Court Time: The memo highlighted that attempts to waste court time have been ongoing for the past two months through these protracted procedures.

  • Plea for Early Trial: The SPP appealed to the court to resist these delaying tactics and initiate the trial proceedings at the earliest.

The memo specifically details the procedural delays that have occurred over the last two months, urging the court to ensure a speedy trial. Also Read: Se**xual Assault Case: Karnataka High Court to Hear H.D. Revanna’s Plea to Quash Charges Today
