Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Mahua Moitra has found herself embroiled in a fresh controversy after a screenshot of her seemingly agreeing with a racist and derogatory post on X went viral, drawing sharp condemnation.

The controversy centers on Moitra's reply to an unidentified user's post. The original post, related to the Diwali festival, allegedly called Indians "braindead" and criticized Diwali celebrations abroad as "retarded garbage." Moitra's reply, which simply stated "I agree," was screenshotted and quickly circulated across social media platforms, sparking intense outrage.

Moitra Issues Clarification -

The Lok Sabha member later issued a clarification, stating that she had "accidentally commented" on the heavily trolled X post. She posted a clarification tweet explaining that her reply was a mistake.

Despite her clarification, the issue garnered significant attention within hours, attracting numerous political reactions and criticisms. The incident led to continued trolling, with harsh accusations and statements directed at the TMC leader circulating widely on social media.
