Tumakuru: The Karnataka High Court on Friday directed the Tumakuru Tahsildar to investigate and take appropriate action regarding allegations that the Indian Scouts and Guides Association violated lease conditions for two acres of land leased in Belagumba village (Survey Number 92). The court ordered a probe into claims that the association is constructing a convention hall for commercial purposes, breaching the terms of the lease.
A division bench, led by Chief Justice Vibhu Bakhru and Justice C.M. Poonacha, heard a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by B.S. Venkatesh, a resident of Belagumba. After considering arguments, the bench instructed the Tahsildar to visit the site and verify the claims. If the association is found to have violated the lease conditions by using the land for commercial purposes, such as building a convention hall, the court directed that legal action be taken. The PIL was disposed of with these directives.Handcuffs Backpacks Vegan Leather Casual Backpack Multipurpose Travelling Bags Daypacks For Men And Women
Background: In 2013, the district administration granted a 30-year lease of the two-acre plot to the Indian Scouts and Guides Association. The lease stipulated that the land must be used solely for the intended purpose and not for commercial activities. Additionally, the lease required a 10% increase in the lease rate every two years, as determined by the Tahsildar. However, the petitioner alleged that the association violated these conditions by constructing a convention hall for commercial use and failing to conduct any Scouts and Guides activities on the land. The PIL sought directions for the district administration to take action against these violations. Also Read; Aland Assembly Constituency: Rs 80 Paid per Fake Voter Deletion Application (Form 7), Reveals SIT
