India-China Flights Resume After Five Years, Reconnecting Two Asian Giants!

It has been reported that flight services between India and China the two neighboring countries with the largest populations in the world have resumed from today after being suspended for several years.

Kolkata/Guangzhou: Direct flight services between India and China, the world's two most populous neighboring nations, have been officially reinstated today after a hiatus of nearly five years. This marks the recommencement of air travel connectivity between the two Asian giants, which was suspended due to a combination of factors including the COVID-19 pandemic and rising geopolitical tensions.

The first direct flight under the renewed service, IndiGo Flight 6E1703, landed at Guangzhou Airport in China today at approximately 4:00 AM (IST) after departing from Kolkata. This successful journey signifies the official start of the direct air route.

The suspension of air links had previously underscored the strained international relations between the two countries, marked by ongoing border disputes and regional disagreements. However, the resumption of flights is seen by many as a tangible step toward improving bilateral ties despite the existing political and territorial friction. Reports indicate that, along with this initial seamless connection, regular flight operations will now commence. The move is being hailed as an important first step in addressing broader issues and fostering greater cooperation between the two nations.
