Bengaluru: A devastating explosion at a house in Triveni Nagar, KR Puram, on Saturday morning has tragically resulted in the death of one woman and left three others severely injured. While initial suspicions point towards an accident caused by a cylinder gas leak, the sheer intensity of the blast has prompted demands for a thorough investigation, with forensic experts collecting samples to ascertain the exact cause.
The incident occurred in the Triveni Nagar area of the KR Puram Assembly constituency. Following the tragedy, senior BJP leaders, including Member of Parliament Shobha Karandlaje and local MLA Byrathi Basavaraj, visited the site and voiced their suspicion regarding the nature of the explosion.
Speaking to reporters, MP Shobha Karandlaje expressed her doubts, pointing out that the intensity of the damage which completely levelled the house is highly unusual for a standard gas cylinder leak. "One woman has died, and three people are seriously injured. The entire house has been damaged, and such incidents naturally cause fear among the public," she said, urging a deeper probe.
Taking the matter seriously due to the level of suspicion, police officials have launched an intensive investigation. Authorities are scrutinizing whether the blast was indeed caused by a cylinder gas leak or if it involved other explosive materials. Police stated that the exact cause of the blast will only be revealed once the FSL report is received. Meanwhile, one of the injured, a young woman named Chandana, remains in critical condition and is continuing to receive treatment at Victoria Hospital.
