Vijayapura: In a sharp rebuttal, Minister M.B. Patil has launched a scathing verbal attack on MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, who had criticized him earlier. Patil accused Yatnal of hypocrisy, stating that the BJP leader had previously joined him at the Eidgah grounds for prayers and chanted "Allahu Akbar." "Now he lectures on Hindus," Patil quipped during a press conference.
Addressing the media, the minister took a dig at BJP MP Renukacharya, urging him to reflect on his own comments about Yatnal. "He used to come with me to the Eidgah for prayers and shouted 'Allahu Akbar' back then. Today, he talks about Hindus. It was precisely because of his loose tongue that the BJP expelled him. He's nothing but a self-proclaimed Hindu tiger. Basanagouda, put a leash on your tongue," Patil remarked, mocking Yatnal's fiery rhetoric.
Dismissing Yatnal's barbs, Patil questioned, "Who takes his words seriously? If I did, it wouldn't end well for him." He added, "Yatnal has been mouthing off to everyone, and now it's my turn. If you threaten anyone else, that's your business—but don't come near me with that nonsense. https://dv7jujfts4bjf.cloudfront.net/Untitled design - 2025-10-24T080142.136.png_2025-10-24T02:32:24.619Z
"The minister further clarified that responding to Yatnal would require holding four press meets a day, emphasizing, "I'm not unemployed like him to indulge in such frivolities." Patil also speculated that Yatnal might have been instigated by Kanheri Shri's faction to speak out. He referenced the Panchapeeth, noting, "They've even turned against Hanagal Kumaraswamy."
