Bagalkot: A young woman who was severely injured in a fire caused by a Diwali lamp during the festival has succumbed to her injuries, sources said. Sneha Medar (22) died while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Belagavi after it proved ineffective. The incident occurred on October 19 at Gaddankeri Cross.

The incident took place around 3 a.m. on October 19, when a lamp placed in front of the door caught fire after coming into contact with spilled oil nearby, engulfing the entire single-storey house in flames.
