Raichur: A new processing unit has been established in Raichur, one of the aspirational districts, to promote pulse production and add value to them. This unit is set to provide new economic strength to the district, which is known for producing over 80,000 metric tonnes of red gram (Tur Dal) and 34,000 metric tonnes of chickpea (Chana Dal) annually.Also Read: BMTC Electric Buses Breaking Down on Roads; Causing Trouble to Passengers and Traffic Congestion
The new unit is instrumental in converting the pulses into Arhar Dal (Tur Dal), Chana Dal, and 'Ready-to-cook Chilla Mix'. To process about 50% of the total pulses produced in the district, at least 50 such units are required. In this context, Union Finance Minister Smt.
