How does the selection of contestants for the Bigg Boss Kannada show happen? Who makes the call? What happens next?

Amit, who was eliminated from Bigg Boss Season 12, has revealed the inner workings of the contestant selection process. He said that the production house itself contacts the individuals, and selection happens after private interviews.

The highly popular Kannada small-screen reality show Bigg Boss has successfully completed 11 seasons. Currently, the 12th season is entertaining the audience. Many dream of stepping into this grand house, as participating in it brings fame, good prize money, and a new turn in one’s career.

Many contestants strive hard to enter the Bigg Boss house. From common people to celebrities, there are examples of participants who have won the prize. Film actors, small-screen artists, social media influencers, and even controversial personalities get selected as contestants.

Whenever a new season begins, curiosity arises about the contestants. Usually, the contestant list is revealed on the grand opening day itself. However, many are unaware of how the selection process works.

Amit revealed that he received a call from the production house about three months in advance. “We’ve been observing you for three to four months. It would be great if someone like you enters the house. Can we take your name?” they asked, Amit recalled.

Initially, Amit had no intention of going to Bigg Boss, but he decided to give it a try as an opportunity. Later, a conversation happened via video call, followed by a call from the channel. “I met several people, including the channel head. They asked about every aspect of my life—from childhood to the present, including any traumatic experiences,” Amit explained.

The organizers liked Amit’s straightforward personality. One month before the show started, he was asked to prepare and buy clothes. However, he was instructed not to reveal this to anyone.

Amit shared the information only with his close ones. “I spent around ₹1.5 lakh on clothes, shoes, and other items. But getting eliminated in just one week was disappointing,” he said.
