A BJP leader, Nilesh Rajak, was shot dead in the Katni district of Madhya Pradesh on Monday. Superintendent of Police (SP) Abhinav Vishwakarma informed that Nilesh Rajak was shot dead by two assailants within the limits of the Kaimoor police station. The police immediately registered a case and initiated steps to identify and arrest the suspects. Vishwakarma stated that they would be arrested soon and stringent action would be taken against them.
Shortly after the incident, Nelson Joseph, the father of one of the accused named Prince (30), committed suicide. Learning that his son was involved in the murder, he hanged himself and ended his life. The police identified the accused in the murder case as Prince and Akram Khan (33). A video showing the two masked assailants firing the shots has gone viral. Within minutes of the murder, hundreds of locals took to the streets, demanding the immediate arrest of the killers.
