Chikkaballapur: A historical structure at Nandi Hills near Chikkaballapur has been defaced with the name of notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. Following the incident, a suo motu case has been registered at the Nandi Hills Police Station.
The Tipu Summer Palace, which is a part of history and is currently under the jurisdiction of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), has fallen victim to an act of vandalism. The incident involves the name of international gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, who is currently lodged in Tihar Jail, being boldly painted onto the palace walls.
While the name was reportedly painted a month ago and subsequently removed by departmental staff, the recent act of defacement has caused considerable dissatisfaction among Tipu Sultan enthusiasts and tourists. This act is seen as bringing dishonor to the historically significant Tipu Summer Palace. In response to this act of mischief, the police have registered a case against the perpetrators under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), and Sections 324(2) and 329(3) of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property (PDPP) Act.
