The incident involves a large-scale leak of personal Gmail account credentials and their corresponding passwords, which are believed to have been stolen via an Infostealer Malware attack.

According to the available information, this is one of the largest email password leaks reported recently, resulting in the compromise of approximately 183 million email accounts and passwords. The data was reportedly not stolen through a direct hack, but rather acquired through an Infostealer Malware attack carried out in April of this year, with the source claiming the data was exfiltrated from Google's servers.

This significant breach has raised concerns, particularly regarding Google’s security and authentication measures. Users are urged to take immediate protective action. It is advised to use tools like the Have I Been Pwned (HIBP) website to check if your email address has been compromised in this, or any other, data breach.
