Reduced Rainfall in the State... Rising Temperatures; Increase in Temperature Over the Past Two Days

Monsoon Deficit: Due to below-expected rainfall during the monsoon period (June to September), humidity levels have dropped in several parts of the state. This is a major reason for the temperature rise. Reduced cool winds from the southwest, coupled with dry winds blowing from the northwest, are contributing to the heat. When rainfall fails during the monsoon season, the accumulated heat in the atmosphere leads to a stronger sensation of warmth.
