Bengaluru: Prof. B.C. Mailarappa, the former Registrar of Bangalore University, has been arrested by the Basaveshwara Nagar Police on serious charges of harassing and pressuring a woman for sexual contact.Also Read: Drunk Driving Horror: Car Drags Bike for 2 Km After Collision, Driver Arrested

A complaint of harassment was filed against Mailarappa, who had served as the Registrar in a prestigious university in the city. He is alleged to have continuously called the woman, demanding sexual favour, and also went to her house to harass her, insisting she open the door.Also Read: Minor Girl, with Her Lover, Killed Her Own Mother: Brutal Murder in Bengaluru!

The victimized woman, distressed by Prof. Mailarappa's behaviour, filed a complaint at the Basaveshwara Nagar Police Station. Based on the complaint, the police immediately took action, arresting the former Registrar and initiating legal proceedings.
