Chikkamagaluru: A protest is being held condemning the death of two people in a wild elephant attack. The protest is being carried out by the villagers of Kerekatte in Sringeri taluk. The wild elephant had attacked BJP leader Harish and a person named Umesh, and both have succumbed to the elephant attack. The wild elephant suddenly attacked when they had gone behind their house to fetch leaves. During the protest, the villagers are shouting slogans against the Forest Department and expressing their outrage. The villagers have insisted that they will not move the bodies until the Forest Minister comes to the spot. The protest is currently underway condemning the wild elephant attack.
