Belagavi: Sugarcane growers are holding massive protests in several parts of the state, demanding that an appropriate Minimum Support Price (MSP) be fixed for sugarcane crops. Farmers have taken to the streets demanding that a support price of ₹3,363 be fixed per tonne of sugarcane. Following a meeting led by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Lakshmi Priya, where the factory owners did not agree to the farmers' demands, the farmers have resorted to blocking roads in protest.
