'Kona' with the Intent Against Animal Sacrifice: What Are the Strengths and Weaknesses in Direction?

'Kona', a story that raises its voice against social evils like animal sacrifice, attempts to incorporate elements of comedy, horror, and thriller. However, it creates the impression that this mixture has not achieved balance.

Actress Tanisha Kuppanda, who gained popularity through Bigg Boss, has now established herself as a producer. Her debut production 'Kona' has hit the screens. Karthik Kiran Sankapal and Ravi Kiran have collaborated with Tanisha in the production. This film, encompassing comedy, horror, and thriller elements, features many artists, with Komal Kumar appearing in a prominent role.

In ancient times, animal sacrifice was common in the name of rituals, customs, and beliefs. Director Harikrishna S. has shaped the film 'Kona' based on this very subject. The highlight of the film is what events unfold when villagers decide to sacrifice a buffalo during a village fair.

It is the villagers' unwavering belief that if the buffalo is not sacrificed, calamity will befall the village. However, the police insist on not allowing it. Horror elements have been added to such a serious plot, and an attempt has been made to narrate it in a humorous style.Titan Titan Neo Analog Black Dial Men's Watch NM1730SL02/NN1730SL02/NP1730SL02

In the film, Tanisha Kuppanda and Komal Kumar appear as a couple. There are some unexpected twists in their characters. Their true nature can only be understood when seen on screen. Many artists from Bigg Boss and Gicchi Giligili programs have acted in this film.

Komal Kumar, along with Tanisha Kuppanda, Jagappa, Sushmita, Shishir Shastri, Namrata Gowda, Ranjith, Vinay Gowda, Tukali Santosh, Manju Pavagada, Vijay Chendoor, Raghu Ramanakoppa, Ritvi Jagadish, M.K. Matha, Keerthiraj, and many other artists have performed in key roles.Threat to Big B Amitabh Bachchan from Khalistani Organization? What's the Reason?

Due to the large number of comedy artists, the film moves at a fast pace. When it's a Komal Kumar film, fans naturally expect comedy. However, attempting to add horror and thriller elements alongside comedy has caused some imbalance.

It neither becomes a full-fledged horror-thriller nor shapes into a complete comedy film, emerging without a specific framework. The horror story chosen by the director needed more intensity. More attention could have been paid to improving the comedy scenes.

Such shortcomings are evident in the film 'Kona'. Nevertheless, due to the film's intent to raise its voice against social evils like ups and downs and animal sacrifice, the movie reaches the audience in its own standing.
